MiCNU presents: Neighborhoods: Placemaking’s Building Blocks

The Michigan Chapter of the Congress for New Urbanism is sponsoring a public urban planning symposium featuring Maurice Cox, Planning Director for the City of Detroit, as the keynote speaker. Mr. Cox will discuss his recent master plans for Detroit’s neighborhoods, including his theory on “20-Minute Neighborhoods.”

Other Speakers are: Robert Gibbs, who will present best practices for complete neighborhood planning and development including case studies of Michigan’s New Urban Communities; and John Jackson, who will present proven practices for planning and implementing sustainable neighborhoods.

Tickets are $10 in advance or $20 at the door.
